What’s the point of being a digital nomad if you can’t explore the local attractions or the beautiful nature the new country you’re in has to offer? You wouldn’t want to land in full rainy season when all you want to do after work is explore the area where you live or go out and socialise. After all, this is one of the biggest assets we have as digital nomads: time and location flexibility. You really want to be in the right place, at the right time.
Moreover, the weather is a major factor in your daily mood and productivity as a digital nomad, whichever type of work you do. Especially if your daily routines involves creative thinking and activities.
Personally, I have made this mistakes a few times when I started my nomadic lifestyle, but lesson learned and now I check the seasons and local weather ALL THE TIME before I plan my passages.
We’ve received a lot of questions and requests recently around weather(guides) hence we came up with an idea for this complete season guide for a few nomad hotspots around the world.
1. Weather Chiangmai
Three seasons
Rainy (June – October)
Hot (January – March)
Cool (December – February)
Top of the list, surely one of the best digital nomad in the world is Chiang Mai. With its geographical position up north, far from the beach, Chiang Mai gets a cooler climate than Bangkok and the sandy towns.
Because Chiang Mai is located in a tropical spot, the normal seasons of spring, summer, fall and winter do not apply. Instead, there are three seasons: Hot, Cool and Rainy.
Hence the region undergoes a hot season in January and March when daytime temperatures soar up to even 40°C (104°F) and it’s a humid heat. The combination of high temperatures and excessive humidity makes life a bit more difficult and people stay more indoors in the A/C. Life slows down a bit. It’s very common for the locals to go and chill in the nearby mountains where the air is cooler. The heat wave is over by early June at the latest.
The rainy season starts around June and continues on until late October. The temperature falls to around 32°C (89°F) during the day and a smooth 23°C (73°F) at night. It rains almost every single day during the rainy season but almost never continuously. Typically the day will dawn sunny and bright but the clouds will begin to gather during the afternoon until the downpour starts in late afternoon or early evening. Thai rainstorms are usually intense but quite short. If you’re ever caught in one, just hit a local bar and wait until it’s done.Typically they last for about an hour.
The cool season in Chiang Mai lasts from early December to February and is the most popular time to visit Chiang Mai, weather-wise. During the day the temperatures reach out 30°C (86°F) and you should wear something warm like a sweater for the evenings. The temperature drops rapidly after sunset, sometimes to as low as 10°C (50°F).

CHIANG MAI WEATHER2. Weather in Bali – Ubud and Canggu
Two seasons
Rainy Season (November – March)
Dry Season (April – October)
Bali…the dream place of every digital nomad. More and more travelers are settling into the co-working or co-living spaces or dream to move on the Hindu Indonesian island. However, if you are new to Bali you should know there is VERY rainy season there.
Between November and March Bali goes through a period with a tremendous amount of rain. January and December are the wettest months of the year. s. Put on top of that the combination of humidity and high temperatures (averaging 90 degrees Fahrenheit / 32 Celsius) during the day might make you might skip Bali altogether in the rainy season. Also mosquitoes like this combination and their presence can be felt in the wet season.
The dry season comes during the summer months between June and August. It provides warm temperatures without too much rainfall and humidity – if you want to enjoy your outdoor activities like hiking, sailing and sunbathing.
However, these months are the island’s peak tourism season so unfortunately, you’re going to find a busy island, not necessarily the paradise you see in the pictures. If you find the island too busy, make sure to jump on a boat and visit one of the Gili islands.
Best time to go to Bali for:
- enjoy great weather, bathing and sun bathing – during dry seasons April to October, when there is least rain, most sun, lowest humidity.
- best time for sightseeing: May to September offers the driest weather when the interior of the island is easiest to explore.
- best time for surfing on Bali: the best time to surf in Bali is during the dry season which usually lasts from April to September. During this period is the waves at the western beaches are at the best. During the wet season of November to March the winds switch direction and the best breaks are at the less impressive eastern beaches

MEXICO CITY WEATHER5. Weather in Da Nang
Three seasons
Rainy Season (October – January)
Dry Season (May- September)
Hot Season (February – April)

February to May is the optimum period to visit Da Nang. This is the time when the rainfall level is not high and you can enjoy your work and travel stay. Da Nang has a tropical monsoon climate, with mild temperatures almost throughout the year.
The months with high temperatures are May to September. Right after this, rainfall season begins which lasts until January. The temperature is usually around 24-degree Celsius in May to September, and the rest of the year it is said to not go below 20-degree Celsius. December and January are also said to be an excellent time to visit Da Nang as the rainfall is less compared to the other months in the wet season.
We do not recommend going between September to November to Da Nang due to a massive amount of rainfall at this time.

BANGKOK WEATHER8. Weather in Tenerife, Canary Islands
Two Seasons
Summer (May-October)
Winter (November-April)
Tenerife is the largest and most popular Canary Island and is known for having a suitable climate condition all year round, if not “the perfect weather” .
Due to its location off the west coast of Africa, temperatures rarely drop below the twenties and this is valid for winter too. Therefore, in theory you could travel to Tenerife, catch sun and work from there most of the year. However, there are small differences during the year as we’ll show below.
Since your spoilt for choice with guaranteed heat every month of the year and no bad time to visit, we’ve broken things down into a rough guide to help you choose the best time to go to Tenerife.
Summer May – October
The summer season runs from May to October therefore during these months Tenerife can get really hot with daily highs of 28°C from June all the way through to September and sometimes reaching a steamy 29°C in August. These temperatures can be found mostly on the islands South Coast.
The North Coast on the other is just as hot as the south yet a little more windy — which is perfect for the nomads out there who love windsurfing.
Here is what you could be getting in summer month by month:
May — 24°C
June — 26°C
July — 28°C
August — 29°C
September — 28°C
October — 26°C
The winter months in Tenerife are sometimes considered the best times to travel mostly for the warm weather but it’s a great time to fill in the bags with some shopping. Even in the winter, temperatures in the South remain pleasantly warm, hovering around 20°C and although the odd light shower can occur, they keep things cool and rarely last for long.
Up on the North Coast, things are slightly cooler and again rain is still very infrequent. When it comes to the night time, temperatures can lower to around 14°C. Here is what you could be getting in winter month by month:
November — 24°C
December — 22°C
January — 21°C
February — 21°C
March — 22°C
April — 23°C
