About the Role
As a Sr. Content Writer, you’ll be at the heart of creating clear, concise, and engaging content that connects with all Veterans. You’ll work with UX researchers, designers, and product managers to ensure every message is user-centered and easy to understand, no matter how complex the information.
Our ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, builds strong relationships with product teams, and champions plain language principles. This role is your chance to make a difference—helping Veterans access and understand the services they’re entitled to while directly improving the lives of those who’ve served our country.
Responsibilities
- Write and edit plain language content for VA.gov web pages, explaining complex government services
- Collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and subject matter experts across the VA to ensure adherence to plain language principles
- Coach and persuade VA product teams on the value of clear, user-focused content
- Manage and prioritize work across multiple product teams autonomously
- Create accurate and accessible content
- Audit content and work within intricate information architecture frameworks
- Support content migration efforts and contribute to content governance processes
